We Built This Because We Needed It Too

Pawse (formerly Intently) wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born at 2am, during yet another scroll session that left us feeling empty. We knew there had to be a kinder way.

Our Belief

You're not broken. You're not weak. The apps on your phone were designed by thousands of engineers to be irresistible. The fact that you're here, looking for a solution, means you're already fighting back.

We believe you don't need to be controlled. You need to be seen. Pawse doesn't lock your phone or shame you into compliance. It simply gives you a moment—one breath, one question—before the autopilot kicks in. In that moment, you remember who you are and what you actually want. Curious where you stand? Our Values

Your Usage History Stays on Your Phone

Pawse keeps your screen-time history on your phone, needs no account, and only syncs if you choose to sign in. We send anonymous analytics and crash reports to fix bugs, and never sell data. Read our Privacy Policy to see exactly what is collected.

Awareness, Not Punishment

Blocking apps feels like putting a lock on the fridge. It doesn't address why you're hungry. Pawse addresses the why—by creating moments of awareness where you can choose consciously.

Science-Backed, Human-Tested

Our approach is grounded in research on habit formation and behavioral psychology. The goal is simple: you feel in control of your phone, not the other way around. See how it works on our Features page.

Built for Humans, Not Metrics

We'll never add infinite scroll, push notifications designed to create anxiety, or 'engagement' features. Our success metric is simple: the less you need us, the better we've done our job.

The Story Behind Pawse

It was 1:47am on a Tuesday. I'd been scrolling for two hours. I didn't even remember opening Instagram. My thumb was moving, but I wasn't there.

When I finally put the phone down, I felt hollow. Not relaxed. Not entertained. Just empty.

And angry—at myself, at the app, at whoever designed that endless feed to be so perfectly, maddeningly addictive.

I'd tried screen time apps before. They blocked me out of my own phone like a parent grounding a child. They showed scary usage stats designed to shame me. None of it worked.

What if an app didn't try to control me? What if it just asked me a question?

'Is this what you want to be doing right now?'

That question became Pawse.

Today, that moment of pause helps people choose their own path. Some days they choose to scroll—and that's fine. The point was never to eliminate screens. The point was to make it a choice. Your choice.

You're Already Taking the First Step

The fact that you're here means something. Take the next step—it's free, private, and takes 30 seconds.
