Privacy Policy for Pawse for Chrome
Last updated:
Pawse for Chrome is the browser extension of Pawse. In the Chrome Web Store it is still listed as “Intently - Intentful Browsing” until it is renamed. It shows a gentle pause and timer on the websites you choose and tracks the time you spend on them. The Android app has its own policy.
Developer: MD Sadakat Hussain Fahad, publishing as Intently · Contact: pawse@liveintently.app
The short version
- Your tracked sites, limits, goals and statistics are stored in your browser.
- The extension sends usage analytics to Google Analytics, including the domains of the sites you chose to track and how long you spent on them.
- Signing in and cloud sync are optional.
- No ads, and we don’t sell your data.
What stays in your browser
- The websites you chose to track, your limits, goals and settings.
- Sessions on those sites: when you visited, for how long, and how you responded to each pause.
- Statistics, streaks and quest progress built from those sessions.
These are kept in Chrome’s extension storage. Your settings use Chrome’s sync storage, so if you use Chrome Sync they follow your Google account to your other browsers; Google handles that sync.
The extension only acts on the sites you add. It does not record your general browsing history.
Information that leaves your browser
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
The extension sends events to Google Analytics, tied to a random ID created when you install it: session start and end on tracked sites (the site’s domain, a timestamp and the duration), pauses shown and your choice, and use of features such as goals and settings.
Sign-in and sync (optional)
You can sign in with Google. Your goals, statistics and settings are then synced to a database hosted by Supabase so you can restore them. We receive your email address and Google account identifier, never your password.
Permissions
- Access to websites (
<all_urls>), tabs, active tab: to recognise when you open a site you chose to track and show the pause on it. - Storage: to keep your settings and statistics.
- Alarms, idle, notifications: for timers, to stop counting while you are away, and for reminders.
- Context menus: to add the current site from the right-click menu.
- Identity: for the optional Google sign-in.
Sharing
We don’t sell or rent your data or use it for advertising. Data reaches only Google (Analytics, Chrome Sync, Google sign-in) and Supabase (optional sync), acting on our behalf, and anyone the law requires us to disclose it to. Our use of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Removing the extension deletes the data stored in your browser. Synced data stays until you ask us to delete it at pawse@liveintently.app. Google Analytics keeps events for up to 14 months.
Your rights, children, changes
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data by emailing pawse@liveintently.app. The extension is not directed at children under 13. Changes are posted here with a new date.
